What Families Say

FA

Faridah Azman

Johor Bahru, Johor

"My parents' documents were spread across three different rooms with no clear system. After the Heritage Records Programme, every paper has a proper place and the handbook sits on the shelf where anyone in the family can check it. It took about six weeks all together and it was worth every session."

Tan Kok Wei

Skudai, Johor

"I booked the Personal Records Visit because I needed to sort out my own documents before a property matter. The session itself was quiet and well-organised β€” the facilitator brought the folders, worked through things with me methodically, and left me with a printed index I can actually use. Straightforward service."

Nora Lim

Johor Bahru, Johor

"We did the Heritage Reference Workshop as a family β€” myself, my husband, and my two siblings. It was useful to do it together because we each knew about different papers the others didn't. The binder we put together now lives at my mother's house and everyone knows to check it first."

Rosman Hamid

Pontian, Johor

"The facilitator who came to our home was patient β€” our documents were genuinely in disarray and it took time. She didn't rush anything. By the end we had labelled folders sorted by category and a list of everything we had. Quite reassuring to know where things are now."

Cindy Yap

Iskandar Puteri, Johor

"We used Legacora for the Heritage Records Programme after my father passed. It helped us work through what we had, identify what was missing, and create a proper record for the remaining family. The scanning checklist was particularly useful β€” we hadn't thought about making digital copies before. It took about eight weeks but we weren't rushed."

Amirul Mokhtar

Johor Bahru, Johor

"I appreciated that the scope was explained clearly from the start β€” document organisation only, nothing to do with legal matters. That was important to me. The session itself was efficient and the printed index is something I refer to regularly. Good service."

Case Studies

How Families Used Each Service

Case Study 01

A Retired Couple in Johor Bahru β€” Personal Records Visit

The Situation

A couple in their late sixties had accumulated documents across thirty years of household life β€” three different drawers, a filing cabinet, and a box of loose papers. Their adult daughter lived overseas and had no clear idea of what documents existed or where they were held.

What Legacora Did

A Personal Records Visit was arranged over a single afternoon. The facilitator worked through the documents with the couple, sorted them into ten labelled categories, and produced a printed home index listing each folder and its contents. A copy of the index was also sent to the overseas daughter.

The Outcome

The couple's documents β€” previously spread across multiple locations β€” were consolidated into one labelled folder set. The daughter now holds a copy of the index and knows exactly what documents her parents have and where each one lives. Duration: one session, approximately four hours.

"It was something we'd been meaning to do for years. The visit made us do it properly and the index at the end was exactly what our daughter needed." β€” Client, Johor Bahru

Case Study 02

A Three-Sibling Family β€” Heritage Reference Workshop

The Situation

Three adult siblings, each living in different parts of Johor, wanted to create a shared reference of their parents' documents. Different family members held different papers with no common record of what existed or who held what.

What Legacora Did

A Heritage Reference Workshop was arranged at a home venue with six participants. Each sibling brought the documents they held. Together they assembled a draft binder mapping all family records, with labels indicating who held each item. The session ran for approximately half a day.

The Outcome

The family now has a shared draft binder and labelled folder set at the family home. All three siblings know what records exist, where each is held, and who to contact for specific documents. The group format made the process more efficient than any single person working alone would have been.

"Doing it as a group meant we each brought things the others didn't know about. The binder covers all of us now." β€” Client, Skudai
